Members of Lindsay Chapter No 1335 were honoured and delighted to receive principal guest Barry Jameson at their installation at Hindley Masonic Hall. Barry was accompanied by the Chairman of Wigan Group Geoffrey Porter together with Chris Reeman, group charity steward and supported by acting Provincial grand officers Alan Jones, Stephen Holcroft and George Fletcher.
The chapter was opened for business by Joe Higham, first principal, Geoff Hardman as second principal and Rick Woolley as third principal. The usual chapter business then being completed, the distinguished guest was received by Joe and welcomed with traditional Hindley hospitality.
The installation ceremony was shared by the three principals, led by Joe. Geoff Hardman was installed as first principal, Rick Woolley as second principal and Eric Bailey as third principal.
Being such a small chapter, everyone pulls together in what amounts to a great team effort. Readings were given by Paul Liptrot, Alan Brown and Keith Woodhall, whilst Terry Dickinson, Geoff Hardman and Rick Woolley delivered the robe addresses. Stephen Hurst performed the address to the three principals and David Mallon gave the address to the officers. Barry Jameson, as expected, gave a faultless address to the companions.
After the three principals were safely installed, and the officers duly appointed and invested, Barry stood to bring the greetings of the Grand Superintendent Tony Harrison, who he said, would have been delighted to witness such a ceremony and be pleased at the work done by all the companions taking part. Geoff was proud to present charitable donations totalling £300. £100 to West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity, £100 to Wigan and Leigh Hospice, and £100 to Derian House. Barry thanked the companions of Lindsey Chapter for their donations saying that it was a fine amount for such a small chapter.
